Captain America: The Winter Soldier
The scene is taken from the opening of the Marvel movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier and follows Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff as they discover S.H.I.E.L.D. and its secret while battling a new enemy only known as The Winter Soldier.
The scene, especially towards the end, shows how life has changed drastically. How Steve, after coming out of the ice, talks about how the quality of food has improved and how things such as the internet have made life easier.
The scene starts off with an establishing shot, which shows the location and the time, which is before sunrise. The static shot lets us focus on the two subjects, Sam Wilson and Steve Rogers, as they run. This static camera follows one more scene, which is a mid shot, before transitioning to a tracking shot as Steve Rogers outruns Sam Wilson.
The sound is quite simple; it is a mix of diagetic asynchronous sound and non-diegetic. The diagetic sound being from the scene, such as the dialogue of Steve saying "On Your Left" and the sound of the shoes hitting the ground as they run. The non-diagetic sound is the music playing in the background in the start before transitioning to trumpets to convey determination and and heroism, a slight hint at how Steve is the war hero, Captain America.
The Mise-en-Scene is quite simple: grey running shirts and grey shorts or sweatpants with simple shoes. This shows a simple, daily yet hard-working routine. The location gives us the hint that its in a park some where in Manhatten.
There isnt much to discuss on the editing, it is simple and slow paced. It can easily let us help keep track with the characters and their dialouge
